Weston Florida is a planned community in northwest Broward county which was ranked in 2008 by Money Magazine as one of the top 100 places to live in the US and the best place to live in the state of Florida.  The city of Weston is known for its low crime rate, A-rated schools and well-landscaped communities.  Weston FL has a total area of approximately twenty-six square miles with nearly ten percent of that consisting of lakes and various waterways.  Weston Florida's population is estimated (2010 US Census) at approximately sixty-five thousand residents with approximately forty-five percent of the population of Latin origin (largely Colombian, Venezuelan & Cuban).  The 2010 US Census also revealed Weston had just over 24 thousand housing units.  A CNNMoney 2008 survey reported that the city of Weston's median household income was approximately $91 thousand.  A survey conducted by the University of Florida's Bureau of Economics & Business Research showed Weston FL median 2009 household income at $95 thousand.  Weston Florida health care facilities include the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital and Broward Health. Companies located in the area include American Express, Andrx, Marriott, Ultimate Software and Vacation Village.
